I am originally from Chisinau, Moldova. I met my husband, Nathan, in England when I was visiting my best friend from my university days. We lived near Cambridge and then in Stuttgart, Germany for seven years before settling in Northern Virginia. I have two lovely daughters, Jenny and Valeria, of whom I am very proud. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Moldova, and then specialized in teaching English. I now work as an independent contractor tutoring and translating for local businesses. I love to travel and have been to 31 counties so far. I particularly enjoy breathing in new cultures, food, museums, architecture, music, and festivals. I enjoy the Russian/Ukrainian food my mama cooks (she lives with us) and the American, Italian, and Indian food my husband makes. One of my favorite places is my CrossFit gym. I also enjoy yoga, Zumba, Pilates, dancing, and especially swimming. My interests include attending the theater, musicals, concerts, opera, ballet, symphony, and fashion shows. Although I keep myself busy, I try to give back to my community by volunteering for a local Meals-On-Wheels distributing food to the elderly. My embroidery machine is allowing me to embellish many of my outfits and the RSL Club has connected me with Art of Hats, Wool Wonders, and art classes where I have met dozens and dozens of wonderful people. I have a special place in my heart for the Russian Speaking Ladies Club because of the community it has created for all of us.
